I have always been inspired/motivated to create artwork in response to 9/11. I was very much disturbed by it. Like a lot of other people, I was a witness to the towers falling. I created the painting Comfort and Hope and the Hoboken Children's Memorial Flag which hangs in Hoboken City Hall. Tonight, Hoboken will be dedicating their Pier A memorial after a long process of development, and I hope it goes well. The local 9/11 memorials are a part of our life, because they are also reference points for our bike rides. Past Weehawken to the north, and Empty Sky in Jersey City to the south. Here are sketches I've done of them.
Small 6 X 8 oil paintings I made in Cape Cod with my new cigar box painting kit. The kit fits in a bag on my bike with my sketchbook, and allows a lot of freedom.
